I’m delighted to be joining the fabulous team at Radio Wey. It’s been an ambition of mine to work in Radio: and I’m now finally able to live my dream! So to my background – it’s an eclectic mix of classical music education, working for an international airline, raising a family, to singing with a contemporary a Cappella band. Way, way back, I studied violin, piano and singing at the Royal College of Music and then at Goldsmith’s College, London University. Putting my German language skills to work, I then worked as a Flight Attendant for United Airlines, where I became a Purser. Two decades later (!)…. an opportunity enabled me to take a separate tack, singing for a touring Opera Company. I now teach all my instruments, focusing on singing. I also sing in a contemporary A Cappella band called Academix! Most recently, I’ve been helping my church keep their live-streaming going during Lockdown and we continue to strive to adapt to the changing climate. My latest skill learned is being able to sing and play piano at the same time!!… Singing is what keeps me sane, but I love to chat too, as my friends will testify! I can’t wait to get to spend time with you, sharing my choice of music and lifting your spirits with some humour and banter. I promise that I will play your requests and spend time with you on the wards as and when we can.

Chris has over 20 years experience as a presenter in hospital radio. He is interested in a wide variety of music. His shows features a mix of music and he also collects and plays requests for the patients in St Peters Hospital. In his spare time he enjoys playing the keyboard and writing music.

Helen Julia Minors has had connections with Radio Wey since 2018 when she was a guest on Rock this Wey with Matt Richings. Since then she has become a full presenter and is currently presenting the following shows: Helen's Classical Community which airs on Sundays 4.00-600pm each week, and Helen's Classical Story Time, which is a short series in which she offers an audio book telling stores matched with music which airs Mondays 7.30-8.00pm (from May 2020). The first 12 episodes share four stories form the Mysteries of Sherlock Holmes matched with classical music for violin (as Sherlock is a violinist) and with some music from recent Sherlock Holmes Movies.

Rob has been involved with Radio Wey since 1990 and is still very passionate about the radio station. Rob currently presents two shows; these are Klassic Komedy Cutz and the Artist Request Chart show.

Hi, I'm Nigel; I have lived in Weybridge for 23 years with my wife and children, plus a couple of dogs. Recently I have started to present 'The Late Cocoa Club' on a Tuesday evening. This is all very new to me, but I am enjoying it. I think it's essential to give back to the community where you live-nobody wants to be in a hospital, so if I can make a small difference in their day by making them smile, laugh or just by playing a tune they love. Not forgetting the staff who often work long hours and do so much for others, I hope our music can provide them with a little light relief. I love all types of music and especially enjoy blasting out brilliant tunes in my car. I spend as much time as I realistically can in the West of Ireland and love nothing more than fly fishing for wild trout and salmon, not that I'm very good at it. The Irish music scene is very different from that in England, but I try to bring some of this influence to my show. My working life was hectic; I spent 20 years in International Banking and then went on to own a property company which sent me travelling far and wide. I enjoy cooking and BBQ most weeks, even during the winter; I always have had a passion for cars and enjoy mucking around in my workshop.

Matt has always had a passion for radio from a very young age. Together with some friends Matt would produce their own radio productions and record them to tape. Inspired by a musical family, Matt later took an interest in becoming a mobile DJ from the age of 15. Matt joined Radio Wey in late 2014 and has since presented and co presented a variety of shows including Pick’n’Mix, The Artist Request Chart and Rock This Wey, he currently has a regular slot on Tuesday evenings with the variety show #RequestStop and has continued to broadcast from his home while contacting the wards by phone to collect requests. He has also taken the opportunity to train new presenters over the years and enjoys mucking in with live outdoor broadcasts. His other interests include working in theatre and video production. His particular music interests include sophisticated synth pop, Dance, 80’s & 90’s.

Former Chairman Clive has been a member of the station since 1990. He has been involved in many aspects of its operation since then, including Secretary, Fundraising Officer, Outside Event Coordinator and Recruitment & Training Officer. Over the years he has presented request shows for Ashford Hospital & Whitegates Care Home, a magazine / interview style programme called Anything Goes and more recently specialist music shows such as Digging Up The 70s and Kaliveascope, which showcased various forms of mostly instrumental music from the likes of Ludovico Einaudi, Jean Michel Jarre, David Arkenstone & Vangelis. His passion for local football, especially Staines Town, has meant that Clive has produced, presented, reported and commentated on both of the Radio Wey Sportscene programmes for well over 20 years . He also plays in local table tennis and bowls leagues, and alongside Pat Stovell and Ben O'Connor, started up in Staines a walking football session in association with the Middlesex FA and Radio Wey in 2014.

Hi, I’m Maria and I grew up locally in the Ashford area, and now live in Staines. My interest in music started at a very young age, with my dad’s love of radio, and my love of dancing to all genres of music having a big influence. My career is as a dancer, working in West End shows until settling down and having a family. My children are grown up now and I teach and choreograph dance and am involved in many areas of performing. I am thrilled to be a part of the Radio Wey team.

I started with Radio Wey in April 2019 after 18 years service as a Scout leader, and to be honest I don't miss soggy wet and muddy camp sites! I've lived in Staines and Ashford all my life and music has always been a big part of it. I learnt to play the bass guitar at school and have also picked up other instruments like keyboards and drums. I think the DJ fascination started when I was about 19 and I started collecting 12" singles, mostly House music, and then got myself a pair of turntables and a mixer. At the time I was in a band with 2 friends and we managed to record and produce 2 albums in his amateur studio. I started my training at Radio Wey with Matt Richings soon after joining and became a regular co-presenter on Tuesday nights Request Stop. I've also been part of the Hospital Open day last year and the Walton Festival of Light events last year. During my training I was lucky enough to cover some other shows and I got my final big break on New Years Day when I covered Brunch Time Breakfast. Now I am presenting my own request show on a Wednesday night for the Maternity ward and am looking forward to other Radio Wey events too!

Back in 1972, a local Youth club, a record deck, some speakers and a pile of records changed his life. He gave up everything else to become a professional Disc Jockey. After a couple of years spinning dance records at the top London clubs, He started building discotheques in hotels and on cruise ships round the world, also giving him the chance to go live on air on local English speaking radio stations in Germany and America, before presenting for several years on Capital Radio in Abu Dhabi, specialising in "The Breakfast Show" A couple of years as EMIs International Promotions Manager introduced him to both many more Artists and Music genres, while promoting them and touring with some of the most well known Music Superstars. During Covid he discovered Internet Radio, and has been there ever since, and joins Radio Wey as There is nothing quite as special or healing as the joy that music brings.

After 34 years of working for British Airways and living out of a suitcase, Steve joined Radio Wey in 2006. He trained as an actor many, many years ago and so it's great fun to be 'performing' again. He loves the fact that there are no playlists and so he can pick from a wide variety of music. His tastes in music are fairly eclectic and include most genres. He has also done a little voiceover work so if anyone out there wants a soothing, mature voice for their advertisement, give him a call. Steve is also our Outside Events coordinator - getting Radio Wey out to our community

Jim has lived in Surrey for the last 50 years. Jim has now reached some 40 years plus on Hospital Radio Wey and looks forward to serving the station for many more. His taste in music goes right across the board from classic to pop.

That’s Warren Fox, aka DJFOX. A Surrey Soul, Disco, Reggae and Northern Soul DJ with many years behind the decks. He’s the voice behind Foxy’s Soul Den, and runs the Surrey Soul Club bringing classic soul, rare groove and feel-good vibes to radio and live events across the Surrey. You’ll catch him here on Radio Wey Thursday evenings from 8 with a bit of something for everyone.

Simon is an ex publican who has been presenting with Radio Wey since returning to Surrey 3 years ago. Surrounded by music and involved in some way or another he is keeping up with the up and coming rock/pop guitar bands as well as his taste in classic 70's music. Happy to play your requests on a Wednesday afternoon from 3 till 6pm

Alan was born in Walton-on-Thames and lived there for his first 22 years. Alan somehow managed to get into management without anyone noticing and he currently works designing medical devices. Radio Wey joins his love of electronics, medical and healthcare all into one. Years ago he was into playing heavy metal but now he has mellowed and likes to play a selection of 80s, 90s and quality tracks from the 00s. His interests include running, keeping fit and eating chocolate all mutually exclusive.

Hi, I’m Richard and have recently joined the team at Radio Wey! I currently work as Cabin Crew based at Heathrow traveling to different parts of the world. When I’m not at 38,000 feet, you’ll find me cooking in the kitchen or washing my Alfa Romeo. I have an eclectic range of music from the 60’s through to today. Some of my favourite artists you will probably hear are, Dua Lipa, Jamiroquai or The Rolling Stones. I hope you’ll join me here on Radio Wey.

Roger has been a member of Radio Wey since 1972 and has held the offices of Outside Broadcasting Coordinator and Chairman. He presents a two hour show on Sunday mornings. His music interests are German oompah music, Dire Straits, Eagles and Shania Twain.

Rob Chantler joined Radio Wey in 2007 and currently presents Rob's Jazz Club every Sunday at 1pm and In My Opinion every Wednesday at 8pm. He is a playwright and copywriter, having trained as a teacher, journalist and psychotherapist. He writes the station's situation comedy Highly Strung Hannah and commissions original drama productions with his theatre company. Whenever he can, he enjoys time outdoors, normally by the water enjoying the wildlife and the peace and quiet.
