For any data that we obtain from you, Hospital Radio Wey’s Charity Secretary Trustee is the data controller the purposes of appropriate data protection laws.

Below we outline what data we use, how is used and what choices and rights you have in respect to the data that is held. Data is held securely on Radio Wey Charity Trustees’ computers and/or within secure areas of Google Drive which can only be accessed by Radio Wey Charity Trustees.

We are acting in compliance with current data protection laws in the UK and the EU. Future changes to our Privacy Policy will be published on this page.

 

Submitting a Music Request or Dedication

In making a request or dedication – you are able to contact us via the telephone, by completing a form online, or by a visit of one of our members to the wards. In doing so, we will ask for some basic information (your name, which hospital and ward you are in (if applicable), and your email (if submitted online)).

Our team will then use this information to play your request or dedication, and possibly to get in touch with you to clarify any details of the request. Your name and location may be mentioned on-air.

All personal information gathered as part of requests and dedications is not retained after the programme.

 

Making an Enquiry and Supporting Radio Wey

When contacting us by email or telephone regarding an enquiry about our services, hiring our facilities for outside events, or working with us in a supporting role, we will ask for a contact name, contact telephone number and email address, and name of company or organisation. These details will only be used to contact you in connection with your enquiry, or in relation to any agreement or contract we may have or establish with you.

These details will be held securely by Radio Wey and not passed to any third-party without prior permission.

 

Becoming a Volunteer member of Radio Wey

When applying to become a volunteer member of Radio Wey and after being accepted as a member, we will ask for and retain the following details about you:

  • Name
  • Postal Address
  • Email Address
  • Home telephone number
  • Mobile telephone number

These are required for us to process your application, and it is important that we are able to contact you with information of legitimate interest about the Charity’s administration, activities, events and broadcast or scheduling information. Contact will be in the form of a monthly email newsletter, interim informational emails, and occasional telephone calls.

These details will be held securely by Radio Wey and not passed to any third-party without prior permission. They may be retained for historical and archival purposes even after you are no longer a member of the Charity.

 

Digitally collected information

Information collected digitally can include your IP address, data from your browser, cookies (pieces of data stored on your computer) and how our website and streaming service is used and from what kind of device. This data is used for statistical purposes such as provide aggregate information as to how users may access our site and listen to our broadcasts.

 

Your rights to see, delete or amend data held about you

You are entitled to access your personal data held by us at any time. Please email secretary@radiowey.org to make such a request. We will be obliged to offer any appropriate details within 30 days of the request. Please do advise us if you are seeking a specific piece or pieces of data.

We will only process your data for as long as it is deemed necessary after which time it will be securely deleted or archived as appropriate. Any concerns about the ongoing processing of data, including any corrections that may need to be made to any information held, should also be directed to secretary@radiowey.org.
