Walking Netball

Walking Netball is a slowed down version of the game of netball - fully accessible designed so that anyone can play, regardless of age or fitness level.

From those who have dropped out of the sport they love due to injury, those who believed they had hung up their netball trainers years ago, to those who wish to try netball for the first time, walking netball is for everyone.

The sessions are designed for anyone looking to exercise in a fun, relaxed, supportive and friendly environment. The hour-long sessions are run by a qualified  coach provided by England Netball and comprise of warm-ups, fun drills followed by a full court game.

There is no running or jumping permitted, an extra step is allowed when catching the ball and the ball can be held for 4 seconds.

The social interaction within the sessions has proved just as important as the exercise itself.

Despite the slower pace of the game, there are still physical benefits, including weight management and weight loss, improvement fitness, improved mobility (many of the participants have knee and hip replacements) as well as getting your brain working.

Walking netball sessions have been running for nearly a year now at:

Spelthorne Leisure Centre every Wednesday 10 - 11
Xcel Leisure Centre every Thursday 10 - 11
Egham Leisure Centre every Friday 12 - 1

No need to book. Just come along and give it a go.
